Code of Conduct

Due to drowning risks and other conditions, children not participating in swim practice or competitions must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The baby pool is closed during practice and meet times. Running, pushing, or horse play on the deck are are not permitted. -
It is unsafe to throw training gear such as pool buoys and kick boards. Swimmers caught throwing such equipment are subject to disciplinary action by the coaching staff.

We will refrain from judging or criticizing others. We will not discuss individuals when not in our presence. We will “PRAISE IN PUBLIC AND CORRECT IN PRIVATE”. -
We will treat all members of the team (coaches, swimmers, parents) and our opponents with dignity and respect. -
The use of alcohol and tobacco is banned during practice times or meets. -
We are all responsible for the care and proper use of equipment and facilities. Practice is not finished until all supplies are returned to storage. Everyone helps. -
We will be dedicated and loyal to our team. We will be vocally supportive . We will display our team pride by competing in Sharks attire at all times. Team caps (if worn) and suits are to be worn when competing. We will remain silent and make an honest effort to listen and look when coaches are speaking. We will be committed to our best effort everyday.

As communication is relayed primarily via email, all Brandon Oaks Sharks families and staff will take responsibility for checking email. -
Parents are required to give the coaching staff notice (written/via email) ASAP if their swimmer(s) will not be participating in a meet. -
Physically or verbally abusive behavior is unacceptable and will result in immediate disciplinary action by the coaching staff. We will arrive to practice early enough to begin on time. -
Swimmers under the age of 8 must have a parent or responsible guardian on deck during all practice.

The coaching staff may remove any swimmer(s) from practice or a meet at any time for any rule violation
Bullying Amendment
Brandon Oaks Swim Team has a zero tolerance bullying policy. Any form of bullying needs to reported to the team representative or head coach immediately. Bullying of any nature will be met with a board meeting to decide suspension. Once the suspension has passed, the swimmer can elect to join the team for the rest of the season. If the same behavior is shown after suspension, the swimmer will no longer be allowed to swim for Brandon Oaks.
Bullying includes but is not limited to:
- Name calling and offensive language.
- Belittling someone else
- Physical or verbal abuse
- Threatening another person
- Taunting
- Spreading rumors or embarrassing someone in public
- Inappropriate sexual remarks or advances.
